APPRENTICE LEARNING - IGNITING PURPOSE

I love working with non-profits who are doing important work that makes a difference.

Apprentice Learning is an innovative educational, non-profit organization providing eighth graders in Boston’s most vulnerable neighborhoods the opportunity to obtain valuable work experience within their communities.

The organization was founded in 2012 by Helen Russell, fueled by her passion for educational learning and her in-depth understanding of the needs and struggles of at-risk kids in the Boston Public School system.

Students are paired to jobs that match their interests at Boston businesses both big and small, including the Boston Ballet, Boston Architectural College, Polka Dog Bakery, Clear Flour Bakery, to name just a few.

I had the pleasure to visit the schools and worksites and capture the students in action.
